Park Street Remembrance Day Parade

Here are the details for this year’s Remembrance Service, from the Parish Council’s site.

Remembrance Service at St Stephen Parish War Memorial, Park Street giving members of the local community the opportunity to pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice, not only in the First and Second World Wars, but also in more recent conflicts.

The Service will start with a parade of standards by local youth organisations, led by a lone piper. The parade will form up on Park Street, by the railway bridge south of the junction with Hawfield Gardens, from 2.30 once the road closure is in place, from where it will make its way along Park Street to the War Memorial. Anyone wishing to take part in the parade should join those congregating in the Village Hall car park by 2.15. The parade will begin at approximately 2.45. During the service there will be the opportunity for individuals to lay a personal tribute. The parade will march back to the Village Hall Car Park at the end of the service.

Please note that car parking in the vicinity is limited and there will be a road closure in place between Hawfield Gardens and Park Street Lane 2.15pm -4.00pm.
