To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the PSRA, we are proposing to run a photography and painting/drawing competition.
It’s a golden opportunity to win local fame and and vouchers, no matter what your age.
There will be 2 categories, Under 16 years old, and Over 16 years old. We would encourage residents to send in their own photos or paintings of Park Street, either current or past, that show off something memorable, picturesque, quirky or just plain interesting about Park Street.
Entries can be in colour or black and white, maximum size A4 equivalent/ 21.0 x 29.7cm, 8.27 x 11.69 inches; and in portrait or landscape.
If they are to be submitted as hard copy, they should be submitted in an A4 envelope, not folded. They can be submitted to any of our committee members as listed on page 44 of the latest newsletter or to Costa at the Park Street Barbers. Paintings or drawings can be in any medium … charcoal, watercolours, crayons etc.
For the Under 16’s category, you can also ask your teacher if your school will submit your entry, and the PSRA will make arrangements to pick up artwork and photos from your school.
Entries should include entrant name, age (if below 16), and a brief description of the image origin and when it was taken/drawn/painted. If you include a photographic portrait of another person, please obtain their permission to use their image before submission. We cannot guarantee the safe return of your entry. Entries will be restricted to one per person.
Every month, a selection of entries will be shown on the PSRA website (psra.org.uk), and the winner from each category will be announced and displayed at the Park Street Summer Craft and Boot Fayre on 6th June. Entries must be submitted by noon on 18th May 2016, and the winners will be decided by the PSRA committee.
