Meet Phil Sherman

We’re very excited to have Phil Sherman doing the honour of switching on the lights at our Christmas Light Switch-on Thursday the 2nd. I thought I’d tell you a little bit about Phil and his lovely theatre before the big event.

I was fortunate to meet Phil in his workshop, where I got a chance to see some of his props, costumes and memorabilia. It was a fascinating look behind the curtain of a remarkable production.

Phil and his partner Rosely (whom he met on a mime course!) and daughter Camilla have lived at How Wood for 27 years now, having moved from North London.

Here he tells us how it came about that they moved to How Wood, and talks about his delightful theatre.

Booster Cushion Theatre for Children was formed in 1989, specifically to work with children and to encourage them to take greater interest in books. Since then Booster Cushion Theatre has presented about 6000 performances over the last 32 years and has been seen by over a million people, and has appeared in every corner of the UK (with the exception of the Orkneys and Cornwall!)!

Find out where to find Phil next at his website. In the meantime, don’t miss his next productions:
