COVID Vaccinations
Figures have been released last week that show more than 414,930 people in Hertfordshire and west Essex have been vaccinated with at least their first dose. Across England, more than 18 million people have received the vaccination, equal to one third of the adult population.
People aged 56-59 are now being invited to receive their COVID-19 vaccine. If you are aged 56 or over, you can book an appointment via the National Booking Service Click Here or by calling 119, between 7am and 11pm, seven days a week. GP-led vaccination sites (e.g. the ones based at a doctor’s surgery) are currently focusing on vaccinating those aged 16-65 who are at moderate risk from Covid-19, as well as carers. If you are aged 56+ and would like to get your vaccination at your GP hub, rather than at a site on the national booking system, you will need to wait for your GP to contact you.
Lateral flow testing – Schools
From 8 March, children will be returning to primary and secondary schools. Secondary school students are being tested 3 times a week in the first two weeks of school, before being provided with two tests per week to use at home. Parents and carers are being encouraged to get two rapid tests a week.

This process should help to identify cases and outbreaks more quickly and effectively than before. Doing this will help us to work together to reduce the spread of the virus in the community and protect people who are vulnerable.
