We were privileged to listen to our great local Big Band Badje, led by our Magazine Editor and fellow committee member, Joy Mendelsohn, accompanied by local choirs from How Wood School and Park Street Schools.
We were also proud to have former Councillor Ian Getley and a representative from each of the schools present to turn on the lights. If you don’t know Ian then you ought to, because he’s a very community spirited man, ably assisted by his wife Sue at times. Both Ian and Sue were PSRA members and Ian was the last but one Chairman. Ian some of you may know has been a Parish Councillor and stepped down earlier this year with over 22 years’ service. In that time, he brought us lots to celebrate in the village, such as the Parish fete, the Carol Concert, and the wonderful Remembrance Day Service we have every year. And more importantly a tradition PSRA are continuing today with the Christmas Lights. Thank you to Ian for giving up his time to help the local community event.
Hopefully everyone who attended enjoyed the evening, especially the mulled wine/hot chocolate from PSRA and mince pies provided by Co-op Food, as well as the local shops including Lily Alley florists holding their own Christmas event, and the other shops that stayed open late.

Christmas lights are organised by your Park Street Residents Association. We are a group of volunteers, who love where we live and want to encourage a REAL sense of community, which is quite special these days, just like our village!
